Our Story

From McBarleys to
West Coast Pressed

West Coast Pressed was born from McBarleys Brewing Co., established in 1994. The business has been owned and operated by David & Victoria Robinson since 2009.

Family-owned and operated, McBarleys built its reputation over three decades in beverage production including brewing, winemaking, cider making, and fresh fruit processing across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and the lower mainland.

Throughout that time, long-standing relationships with customers, growers, and community partners shaped the business. Over the years, apple pressing became more than a service, it became a shared harvest tradition.

As the industry evolved, so did our focus. West Coast Pressed represents a refined chapter, a dedicated, commercial-scale apple juice operation built on 31 years of production experience and community trust.

Rooted in Community

For decades, households and growers have returned season after season to press their fruit with us. Those relationships have been built on consistency, fairness, and quality and will always remain central to who we are.

We are committed to supporting local growers, managing harvest season responsibly, and ensuring access to structured, professional fruit processing each year.

Behind every harvest season is a team that knows the work inside and out.

Sustainability in Practice

Sustainability is not a marketing statement for us, it is operational. Community apples are pressed at commercial scale, The dry apple mash is redirected to local farms for livestock feed and compost, keeping organic material out of landfill.

We prioritize recyclable and compostable materials wherever possible and operate within regulated food production standards to ensure responsible processing. It is a practical, local cycle. Fruit grown here, pressed here, returned to the land here.
